Shattered Mirror An Eve Duncan Novel Iris Johansen Books
Eve Duncan thrillers are always fine reading materials and I am not being disappointed with this newest novel by Ms. Johansen. I am a bit surprised though as this novel takes place six years after the birth of Eve's son Michael, yet the novel was published within one year of the last Eve Duncan book where Eve was pregnant with Michael. I am not going to give away the plot of the book, as it is a must read for anyone who is a fan of Eve Duncan thrillers and a fine read for those of you who are not yet fans of Even Duncan thrillers. Of course once you do read it, you too will start to hunt up the other books in this series and then of course related books in other series that Ms. Johansen (and her son) have written in the past 15 plus years. Now back to that which has caused the surprised look upon my face when I started to read this book. I will hope that sometime in the next couple of years that we are able to fill in the timeline between this book and others that are in this series and the related series of books that are soon to be published.Tags : Amazon.com: Shattered Mirror: An Eve Duncan Novel (9781250075864): Iris Johansen: Books,Iris Johansen,Shattered Mirror: An Eve Duncan Novel,St. Martin's Press,1250075866,Mystery & Detective - Women Sleuths,Thrillers - Crime,Thrillers - Suspense,Detective and mystery fiction,Duncan, Eve (Fictitious character),Duncan, Eve (Fictitious character);Fiction.,Facial reconstruction (Anthropology),Facial reconstruction (Anthropology);Fiction.,Murder - Investigation,Thrillers (Fiction),Twins,Women sculptors,Women sculptors;Fiction.,060101 St Martins Trade Fiction,AMERICAN MYSTERY & SUSPENSE FICTION,Bestselling authors; bestselling writers; new york times bestselling authors; forensic thrillers; forensics fiction; forensics novel; crime thrillers; thrillers suspense; female detective; female police; woman detective; woman police; female investigator; womens thrillers; thrillers for women; crime books; crime novels; crime fiction; crime story; crime thriller books; crime mysteries; crime mystery; crime investigation books; crime suspense; mystery crime; best crime novels; best crime fiction,Detective and mystery fiction,Duncan, Eve (Fictitious character),Duncan, Eve (Fictitious character);Fiction.,FICTION Mystery & Detective Women Sleuths,FICTION Thrillers Crime,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,Facial reconstruction (Anthropology),Facial reconstruction (Anthropology);Fiction.,Fiction,Fiction-Thriller,FictionCrime,FictionThrillers - Crime,GENERAL,General Adult,JOHANSEN, IRIS - PROSE& CRITICISM,Monograph Series, any,Murder - Investigation,Mystery & Detective - Women Sleuths,MysterySuspense,Thrillers (Fiction),Thrillers - Crime,Thrillers - Suspense,Thrillers Crime,Twins,United States,Women sculptors,Women sculptors;Fiction.,FICTION Mystery & Detective Women Sleuths,FICTION Thrillers Crime,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,FictionCrime,FictionThrillers - Crime,Thrillers Crime,American Mystery & Suspense Fiction,Fiction,MysterySuspense
Shattered Mirror An Eve Duncan Novel Iris Johansen Books Reviews
Excellent story. Michael is adorable. Cara and Jock's story is great and hope it continues. Hope we see more of Darcy and Kaskov. They are interesting people. The villain was great and the story fast paced.
Even after all these years, Iris Johansen still has it. Shattered Mirror is another great Eve Duncan novel. Michael is such a mystery, such a treasure, and such a sweet, little boy. I love the sense of family from such a scattered group of broken people. Shattered Mirror is well worth the time to read it. I enjoyed the introduction of new characters, as well, and can't wait to learn more of their stories. Well done!
This book is typical of Johansen. Stilted almost painfully awkward dialogue and ridiculous plot. BUT this is easily five stars because of her amazing characters. I have learned to love Eve and all the family in her orbit as if they were real people. And now Cara and Michael are such great additions. And Darcy was yet another great invention who I really hope we see more of. I can’t wait for the next Eve novel and I hope Johansen keeps writing them ad infinitum.
I have read every Eve Duncan book Iris Johansen has written. I always finish thinking each was the best. But Ms Johansen seems to exceed my expectations with each new chapter in Eve's life. As soon as I finish a book I am ready for the next one. Shattered Mirror is no exception! Eve's son Michael and her ward, Cara, are kidnapped by a psychopath who blames Eve for not doing a reconstruction. Enter Jock Gavin and Cara's grandfather, along with Joe and Eve to the rescue. Every page turned brings a different revelation and keeps you reading long into the night.
I love this series. The characters are so well defined and the plots are always interesting. In this book, Car a and her roommate Darcy are being threatened by a crazed killer. Cara's grandfather and Jock Gavin are also involved. When Michael is threatened, they all work to try to save him and Cara. It was an exciting story and I finished it in two days. Very hard to put down. Highly recommend. It would be helpful if you read some of the earlier books in this series first, but it can stand as a stand alone story as well.
Great book, but be prepared, if you enjoy it as much as I did you will not be able to put it down.
You do not have to know about the other books, but all of the characters are there from the Eve Duncan series.
Michael is the most amazing little boy, and if you are like me, you will fall in love with him. Please note, I am not like the other reviewers as I am not going to tell you the plot or much detail. I think you will enjoy it more, but reading and learning each part of the story on your own.
Absolutely fantastic.
From the start it was pure action but what I loved more than the action was the under current of Jock & Cara.
This story was filled with so many twists and turns, it was edge of your seat. And what a complicated twisted web it was. Even after all these books in this series I never tire of visiting Eve and Joe and her murder mysteries. And when this one revolves around there son Michael and there extended family in Cara...well all bets were off.
Great plot...great additional characters. I love Darcy...what a wild card. AND I’m dying to see what’s in store for Jock & Cara! I’m looking forward to seeing maybe Jane in the future book. She’s another favorite of mine.
Great addition to the series!
